The Athletes’ Entourage Commission is responsible for overseeing, advising, and promoting ethical standards, best practices and athlete protection in relation to individuals supporting and representing athletes within IKF.
1. Regulation & Ethics
- establishes ethical principles for members of athletes’ entourage
- prevents conflicts of interest
- combats abuse, exploitation of athletes, and illegitimate pressure
2. Athlete Protection
- develops athlete protection mechanisms, with particular focus on young or vulnerable athletes
- monitors the athlete–manager–coach relationship
- proposes sanctions or recommendations in serious cases
3. Education & Best Practices
- develops best practice guidelines for athletes’ entourage
- organizes educational programs (career management, health, public image)
- promotes a professional and healthy environment around athletes
4. Advisory Role to the Federation
- acts in an advisory capacity to the Federation’s leadership
- provides feedback from the perspective of elite athletes
- contributes to policies related to professionalization, image, and performance
5. Image & Credibility
- helps maintain a clean and professional image of the sport
- aligns the behavior of athletes’ entourage with the Federation’s values
- reduces the risk of public or legal scandals
