The Para-Kempo / Adapted Kempo Committee is responsible for promoting, developing, and regulating Para-Kempo and adapted sport activities, ensuring accessibility, safety, and inclusion for athletes with disabilities within IKF. Focus: inclusion, accessibility and safe development of sport for Para-Kempo athletes.
1. Development of Para-Kempo/Adapted Kempo
- develops and coordinates Para-Kempo programs at national and international levels
- promotes access to Kempo for athletes with disabilities
- supports the integration of Para-Kempo into the Federation’s official structure
2. Regulations & Classification
- develops specific regulations for Para-Kempo training and competitions
- establishes and updates functional classification systems, where applicable
- ensures fairness and safety in Para-Kempo competitions
3. Athlete Safety & Medical Support
- defines adapted safety and medical protocols
- cooperates with the Medical & Anti-Doping Commission
- promotes athlete welfare and injury prevention
4. Education & Training
- develops educational and training programs for coaches, referees, officials involved in Para-Kempo
- cooperates with the Education & Development Committee
5. Inclusion & Representation
- promotes inclusion and non-discrimination
- cooperates with the Gender Equality Committee and the Media & Communications Committee
- supports the visibility and recognition of Para-Kempo athletes
