IKF CODE OF ETHICS
- Object
The IKF Code of Ethics is an over-arching policy document that defines the most important values and principles for behaviour and conduct within IKF and by representatives of the Federation when interacting with external parties.
The observance of the principles laid down in this Code of Ethics is essential to IKF and its objectives, to protect and improve the sport of Kempo constantly and promote it globally in the light of its unifying, educational, cultural, and humanitarian values, particularly when conducting youth and educational development programmes.
We aim to prevent any methods or practices which might jeopardise the integrity of events or competitions or give rise to abuse or corruption within the sport.
- The following core principles for ethics and conduct apply to representatives of the IKF family within the sport of Kempo:
As a member or representative of the IKF family, we shall, at all times, comply with the following principles:
2.1. Integrity and ethical behaviour
We will behave ethically and act with integrity in all situations, keeping in mind that a reputation for integrity is of the utmost importance to IKF and its objectives.
2.2. Respect and dignity
We will treat everyone with respect, and protect the personal dignity, privacy and personal rights of every human being regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
2.3. Zero tolerance of discrimination and harassment
We are committed to diversity. There shall be no discrimination connected to race, ethnicity, age, gender, origin, skin colour, nationality, religion, language, physical appearance, sexual orientation, political opinion, or engagement in any kind of verbal or physical harassment based on any of the above-mentioned or any other criteria.
2.4. Fair play
We believe in the importance of sportsmanship, which will guide us at all times in all our actions and decisions.
2.5. Compliance with laws, rules and regulations
We will comply unreservedly with the Statutes, laws, rules, regulations, directives, policies and decisions of IKF.
2.6. Avoidance of conflicts of interest
We will act always in the best interests of IKF and its objectives. It is the personal responsibility of each member of the IKF family to avoid any conflict of interest.
2.7. Transparency and compliance
We are committed to full transparency in our activities and decision-making processes and aim to maintain a compliance culture that strives to be best in class with a defined system of checks and balances.
2.8. Social and environmental responsibility
We are committed to taking responsibility for the environment and contributing to positive social change. We want to contribute to these changes through the sport of Kempo and aim to minimise the negative impact of all our activities on the environment and to promote sustainability within our sphere of influence.
2.9. Fight against drugs and doping
We will be committed to playing a pioneering role in the fight against drugs and doping in sport. We are strictly against drugs and all doping practices.
2.10. Zero tolerance of bribery and corruption
We reject and condemn all forms of bribery and corruption.
2.11. Betting and manipulation of results
We will not take part in betting connected with amateur mixed martial arts and do not tolerate any form of manipulation or unlawful influencing of fight results.
2.12 Data Integrity
We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of personal data and to obtaining and processing member data only where there lies a clear purpose and benefit to members.
We will commit to an understanding of the relevant laws and codes of practice that relate to the use of data, and to ensure robust practices in the handling of data.
Code of Ethics (small resume)
The International Kempo Federation respects and follows the IOC Ethics Code.
1. Dignity: respect for human dignity is fundamental to the Olympic spirit and IKF.
2. Respect: respect everybody, elevate your temper, be peaceful, modest and polite.
3. Fair-play: always playing without cheating or trying to achieve unjust advantage.
4. Friendship: promoting harmony and understanding between all IKF members.
5. Discipline: maintain the discipline and good behaviour inside of all IKF events.
6. Excellence: the aim is not just to win, but above all to improve, to give and to do your best.
7. Anti-Doping: all forms of doping is absolutely prohibited, in compliance with WADA rules.
8. Discrimination: there will be no discrimination of any kind between IKF members.
9. Confidentiality: the principle of confidentiality must be strictly respected by the IKF members.
10. Olympic Values: IKF respects and follows all IOC Olympic sport values and education.
